Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Fableling ("Fableling", "we", "us") governing your use of the Fableling website and applications (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
2. Children & parental responsibility
Child profiles may only be created and managed by a parent or legal guardian, who is responsible for supervising the child's use of the Service. By creating a child profile you confirm you are that child's parent or guardian and consent to our processing described in the Children's Privacy Notice.
3. Subscriptions, billing & trials
The Service offers a free tier and paid subscription plans (Premium and Family), billed monthly or annually. Paid subscriptions are sold and processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record, whose terms also apply to the purchase. Prices are shown at checkout and may vary by region.
- New accounts may be offered a 7-day Premium trial. Unless cancelled before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription at the then-current price.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until cancelled.
- Applicable taxes are calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy.
4. Cancellation & refunds
You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period. Refund eligibility is described in our Refund & Cancellation Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: share or resell your account beyond your plan's limits; attempt to bypass usage limits, security, or device restrictions; scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract generated content or answer keys; reverse engineer the Service; misuse it to generate unlawful or harmful content; or interfere with its operation. We enforce plan and device limits and may suspend accounts that abuse the Service.
6. Content & intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, and brand are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial learning. Stories and results generated for your account may be used by you for personal, educational purposes.
7. AI-generated content
Stories, quizzes, and scores are produced by automated AI systems. While we apply safety filters and grounding, AI output can contain errors. All scores we produce — IELTS bands, TOEFL 0–120, PTE 10–90 and Duolingo English Test 10–160 — are indicative AI practice estimates, not official results, and are not guarantees of any exam outcome. Fableling is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the British Council, IDP, Cambridge Assessment English, ETS, Pearson or Duolingo, Inc. Use judgement and, for children, parental supervision.
8. Availability & changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features, and may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new date; continued use after changes means you accept them.
9. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will meet your expectations.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; certain provisions survive by their nature.
12. Governing law
Purchases are made from Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record, and the sale itself is governed by Lemon Squeezy’s buyer terms. Nothing in these Terms removes any mandatory consumer-protection right you have where you live, including any statutory right of withdrawal or refund. Where a dispute is not resolved by contacting us first, it will be handled under the law applicable to you as a consumer.
